Who We Are
Founded in 1986, the German Heritage Society(GHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating German culture, preserving heritage, and building community in the Fort Wayne area. As the youngest of the four Fort Wayne GermanFest partner clubs, GHS was created to be a welcoming place for anyone interested in German culture, family heritage, or the lasting influence of German history in our community.
While many know GHS through our role in helping organize GermanFest each year, our organization is rooted in connection, friendship, and shared experiences. Whether gathering for club events, enjoying good food and conversation, supporting fellow organizations, or strengthening ties with Gera, Fort Wayne’s German sister city, we are committed to keeping traditions alive in an open and welcoming environment.
We invite everyone—German or not—to join us at a monthly meeting or community event. Explore our upcoming events, monthly meetings , and learn more about what’s happening within our organization and the greater German community.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at info@germanheritagesociety.com. We appreciate your interest and hope to meet you soon.
